Ginger Snaps- Granny Goon

¾ cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar
1 egg 
¼ cup molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ginger
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cloves
2 tsp. soda
2¼ cup flour


Mix ingredients together. Roll into balls & roll balls in sugar. Bake at 350° for 8-12 minutes.
(This is one of my VERY favorites, especially during the fall & winter months!)
